Food Network's Guy Fieri Serves Waffles for Hampton Inn |

 If you've been following the recent recipes here on FTK, you've seen just how important we know waffles are to us and to the world (see the recipe here). ...and now we've got the testimony of Hilton Worldwide's Hamtpon Inn chain. They've just announced the addition of personal waffle makers to its breakfast buffets in nearly all of its 1800 U.S. hotels. And how did they celebrate this grand waffle event? By giving away free waffles, of course!
On June 17, 2010, Food Network star chef Guy Fieri helped "Wake Up New York" by making free waffles for the crowds of Herald Square Park in new York City. This amounts to serving upwards of 7000 people, according to Hilton Worldwide. It's an event so big that Fieri even got his son, Hunter, involved.
Hilton's reasons for such a grand offer is because, "...nearly 56% of adults admit they don't eat breakfast..." Kurt Smith, V.P. of Product Quality and Innovation for Focused Service, said, "This time last year, we made a promise to our guests that by June 2010 waffles would become a permanent part of our free breakfast, no matter which location you stay in. We love having our guests and are excited to add waffles to our free breakfast offering in all our Hampton locations nationwide."
Further, in the press release from the Hilton Worldwide web site, Guy Fieri went on to reinforce his committment to the importance of breakfast with his own family. "As a father and a chef, waking up to a good breakfast has always been important to me and my family," said Fieri. "What better way to talk about this than by partnering with Hampton and baking a hot breakfast for anyone who missed the most important meal of the day!"
